My 2016 Jeep Cherokee required warranty service and I tried to take it to our local Jeep dealership where we had purchased the vehicle. I tried calling to make an appointment and after being put on hold three times I decided to reach out to Rocky Top Jeep even though it is 30 miles away from where I live. I am really glad our local dealership didn't pick up the phone. The service department at Rocky Top is AWESOME. The problem was diagnosed within 30 minutes. The staff was professional and very customer service oriented. They gave me a courtesy vehicle to drive while the work was being done. I will now use Rocky Top exclusively for all my service needs. Great job!!!
Really good people. do not know firsthand!! , but the sales team needs to get better with return communication. Losing sales due to lack of a phone call.
Our sales experience with Rocky Top was great. Everyone there was very friendly, the process was quick, and we were very happy. The car started making noise after only two weeks. By the third week of having the car, we had made two trips to our mechanic. We were told that the car was okay to drive before it could be fixed completely. We took the car to Virginia and ended up breaking down there with the car making a terrible noise, smoking and leaking. We took it to one mechanic in Virginia and the service shop at a dealership there as well. Each mechanic we took the car to was shocked that we had just purchased the car less than 30 days before. The mechanic told us that there were problems with the transfer case, the exhaust manifold, and the transmission fluid. The problem with the transfer case was from within. It doesn't sound like this is something that would be noticed during an inspection, but it also was not something that we did to mess it up. The exhaust manifold was cracked. The transmission fluid was black - the service center at the dealership in Virginia even asked up if we kept up with the maintenance. Rocky Top really showed no interest in what we were going through. They only said that they inspected the car and that we bought it as is. They did inform us of a warranty that the car was under with Chevy, but that's the most helpful they were. We have since told several people about our experience with Rocky Top and not too many people have heard of such problems coming out of buying a car. The people who have had similar experiences have at least had dealerships that stood by their products. We essentially paid the price of the car, two towing fees, a hotel, a rental car, and three trips to the mechanic for this car. I don't think our mistake was buying a car as is. I think our mistake was buying a car from Rocky Top as they have made no effort to make this situation better at all.
Excellent service dept. Mr. Dan does an exceptional job. We were in pigeon forge on a vacation and our car broke down on us. Mr. Dan was very courteous & professional and took care of all our needs.
